Pose Genius alternatives for iPhone (Oct 2026)

To start without paying, try Superpose or Clicked. Onpose, PoseCam and Photogenik fit other needs. Pose Genius on Android: not verified. Facts as of 21 Oct 2026.

We make Onpose, one of the apps on this list, so we're not neutral. Facts about each app come from App Store listings and Apple's public data; the sources and the dates we checked them are at the end of the page.

  1. Superpose

best for starting free, with no subscription

Like Pose Genius, it uses AI, but in a different way: it generates pose variations from a photo you take, then shows them as an outline on your camera with coach tips and real-time lighting and framing checks. Its listing doesn't say you can import a saved photo as the overlay. Generation runs in the cloud through an AI provider; in-camera guidance runs on the device. It has 4.80 from 295 US ratings (21 Oct 2026). Pick this if you want to start free and are happy with AI-made poses instead of copying your own photos.

    Free daily Shot Packs; 5 packs $2.99 or 20 packs $9.99, one-time (US, 21 Oct 2026)

  2. Clicked

best for copying a saved photo, with an editor built in

Turns a photo from your camera roll, or one shared from another app, into a see-through guide in the camera, and its Smart Guide can shoot automatically when you're aligned. It also has 50+ presets, Beautify, AI styles and object removal. One reviewer reported (7 Aug 2026) a large watermark on photos taken without Pro. Its listing doesn't say where AI features run. It has 3.74 from 27 US ratings (21 Oct 2026). Pick this if you mainly recreate saved photos and want editing in the same app.

Camera and timer free to start; Pro from $4.99/week or $39.99/year (US, 21 Oct 2026)

  3. Onpose

best for a pose library plus your own photos, with no uploads

We make Onpose. Like Pose Genius, it shows a pose over the live camera and lets you use photos you've saved, alongside a library of 66 poses in four sets. Browsing, the camera and lining up are free; taking and saving photos needs Pro. There's no account, and Onpose doesn't upload your photos or reference images. Compared with Pose Genius it has a much smaller library, no couples set, no AI features, an English-only app and no App Store ratings yet. Pick this if you want to try the overlay on your own saved photos before you pay.

$7.99/week or $39.99/year (US App Store, October 2026)

  4. PoseCam

best for paying once instead of subscribing

Lifts the person out of any reference photo and overlays them on your live camera, with mirror and opacity controls. Pose Assist coaches you live until the pose locks in green, and Auto-Capture is a Pro feature. Its listing says your photos stay on your device and no account is needed. It has 4.56 from 16 US ratings (21 Oct 2026), so there's little public feedback yet. Pick this if you want an overlay of your own photos and would rather pay once.

    Pro $6.99/month or $49.99/year, or $59.99 lifetime (US, 21 Oct 2026)

  5. Photogenik

    best for spoken AI coaching

Version 2.0, released on 5 Oct 2026, centres on spoken AI camera coaching, inside Photogenik and alongside Apple Camera, with voice controls, a pose library and Best Shots (sold as credits) to help pick your strongest photo. Its listing says a subscription is required to use the app, and doesn't say whether it draws a pose over the camera. It has 4.66 from 200 US ratings (21 Oct 2026). Pick this if you'd rather be talked through the shot than copy an outline, and you're fine subscribing.

    Subscription required; $5.99/week, $11.99/month or $79.99/year (US, 21 Oct 2026)

If you want an app like Pose Genius that you can start without paying, try Superpose or Clicked first. Superpose gives you free Shot Packs every day and has no subscription. Clicked’s camera and timer are free to start. Onpose, PoseCam and Photogenik suit other needs, covered below. We haven’t verified whether Pose Genius itself is on Android.

We make Onpose, one of the apps on this list, so keep that in mind. Every fact here comes from the apps’ US App Store listings, Apple’s public data or public App Store reviews, checked on 21 Oct 2026. We haven’t hands-on tested these apps yet, so this isn’t a ranking.

Why people look for Pose Genius alternatives

Common searches are about price or Android, such as “is pose genius free” and “pose genius app for android”. Pose Genius’s App Store listing says “Pose Genius is a paid app. Most new users are eligible for a free or low-cost trial.” Listed US prices on 21 Oct 2026 were $9.99 a week, $19.99 a month, or yearly plans from $47.90 to $68.99. Our Pose Genius vs Onpose page compares the two in detail.

Is Pose Genius on Android?

We haven’t verified it. People search for “pose genius app for android” and “pose genius apk”, but this page is built from the US App Store, and we didn’t check Google Play for Pose Genius or for any app listed here. If you’re on Android:

  • Search Google Play for Pose Genius directly.
  • Check that the developer matches the one on the App Store listing (Founders, Inc.).
  • Don’t install APK files from download sites.

Onpose is iPhone only, so it isn’t an Android option either.

How we ordered them

The need is “an app like Pose Genius that guides my pose in the camera, and that I can start using before I pay”. So apps you can use free come first, then apps closest to Pose Genius’s overlay and saved-photo workflow. Onpose is third: its overlay and library are free to line up with, but taking and saving photos needs Pro, and it has no ratings yet.

App Pose over the live camera Your own saved photo Free to start US rating (21 Oct 2026)
Superpose Yes, as an outline Not stated Yes, daily free Shot Packs 4.80 (295)

Prices may vary, and each app’s in-app paywall is the authority.

If you need couples or group poses

Pose Genius lists couple and group poses in its 500+ library, and that’s hard to replace. Onpose’s with-friends set has 18 poses, all for two people, but there’s no couples set. See the with-friends poses to check whether they fit what you need.
